In the 1970's seven year old Victor Kent went to his local library in search or magic books after being turned on to magic by a trick gifted him by his grandmother. After asking the librarian a few questions and digging through the card catalog he made his way to the children's section and found a few books on a shelf that had titles like "Fun with Magic" and "Now You See It, Now You don't". He checked a couple out. Before long he took the knowledge on those pages and applied talent and started performing backyard and living room magic shows. At 12 he did his first public performace at that very library that first fed his appetite to learn illusions. Twenty-one years later Victor Kent is reaping the life born from those trips to the library. And he has taught his children the skills from those books he read as a child. With a personal library now of over 400 magic trick books Victor doesn't go to the library for magic books now. But when teaching his children about art and literature and sometimes just for fun the family makes outings to the local library. Victor has even performed there a couple of times as an adult. Jugglin' Jim, his son, has even taught a few classes in juggling there.
It is our honor to offer our Summer Reading program to that institution that is partially responsible for us becoming a family of performers.
